SONGWRITERS SHOWCASE

On WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5th, from 7-10pm, we are hoping to have a Local Songwriters Showcase. The idea for the format would be giving multiple local songwriters ~10-30 minutes to perform their original music. Covers are okay too, but hoping to emphasize and amplify fresh and local voices!

The performance time allotted will depend on the number of interested artists participating that night. Think of it a bit like a curated open mic, where if selected, you will have an opportunity for more stage time than the usual one-and-done open mic format. More like 3-7 songs, so you can really settle in and deliver a wonderful performance.

We are also hoping to find someone from the local arts community to help us record professional video of each performance, so that you step away with some great media clips of your time on the Bluebird Stage.

There is no specified genre or style. Setup must be simple, not looking for full bands for this event. If you are hoping to have more than one person stage, setups must be simple and stripped down for very quick transition between acts. This is not a paid event, but we will be doing our best to collect tips which will go to each individual act accordingly.

We will have a professional sound tech on who can help you sound your very best, and our sound and lighting package is of festival level production.

**please note, submitting does NOT mean automatic selection. I will be reviewing all submissions and landing on a final selection of 6 to 12 artists to perform

SUBMISSIONS will close on Weds, 7/29 @ 11:59pm, and the selected artist will recieve an email confirming their spot on FRIDAY, 7/31 @ 12pm Noon.

If you have a conflict that night, don’t worry! We are hoping to establish this as an event we do fairly frequently.
